Goldenseal Herb Cut & sifted 20 lbs

Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) is a perennial herb native to the eastern United States and southeastern Canada. It is also known as yellow root, Indian turmeric, or orange root. The plant grows up to a height of 10-12 inches and produces a single small white flower in the spring. The primary active constituent in goldenseal is berberine, which is also found in other plants such as barberry and Oregon grape. Goldenseal has been used for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. It has been used to treat respiratory infections, digestive problems, skin conditions, and as a general immune system booster. It has also been used topically for wound healing and to soothe skin irritations.
